Joan M. Blake Author,  Speaker,  Spiritual-Life Coach, and Blogger

About Me

My name is Joan M. Blake. I am a Christian author, speaker, spiritual-life coach, and blogger. I was born on the island of Trinidad and Tobago and learned from an early age how to use my talents to help others. On weekends, I held free classes at my home for students in my neighborhood who, years later, went on to pursue graduate degrees.

After receiving my bachelor’s degree from Boston University, I studied at Suffolk University and received my MBA. I taught at a community college helping students to achieve their educational goals and later worked in the public sector. Because I wanted to make a difference in the lives of women and families who were hurting, I studied at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary where I received an MA degree in women’s ministries. In 2000, while attending Seminary, I founded Christian Resource Network, Inc. to provide strategies for women and families to cope with their life issues and educational resources for them to reach their highest potential. I also coached several students from the seminary, who prior to graduation, were able to overcome their struggles and improve their lives. I realized through my writing and coaching, I could help countless others deal with current life issues; I could give them the tools to overcome their past; and help them to find purpose. In 2008, I wrote and published my first book titled, Standing on His Promises: Finding Comfort, Hope, and Purpose in the Midst of Your Storm.

During the course of my ministry, I have been a church deacon, a guest preacher on Salem Radio, a conference speaker and a retreat speaker; I have also conducted workshops, support groups, prayer groups and journaling classes to help others cope with and overcome underlying emotions and stresses of life. My latest book release, Discovering yourself through Journaling: Finding Confidence, Courage, and Purpose in Your Life, helps readers understand the power of God’s love and by receiving His love by faith, they can be conquerors through Him who loved them (Romans 8:37).

I am married to Carl and we are parents to two sons and two daughters and have six grandchildren. When I am not writing, I am at the gym or meeting friends for tea. My favorite verse is. “I can do all things in Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13).”
